YOUTH TRAINING TRAINING PROGRAMMES FOR AGES 7 AND UP. 

For the past couple years, Redemption has created a mission to provide inspiring training which equips and gives an edge to hundreds of student-athletes across the Taranaki region.

Redemption’s youth training programmes don’t just enhance performance, they also build confidence and improve self-esteem in boys and girls aged 7 and up. We truly provide a holistic training programme with a passion for character development.

Our youth training consists of four programmes that offer the foundation for speed, power, strength, and athleticism. Each programme caters to a different age group, yet they all build character and are driven by core values.

1. FOUNDATION

The Foundation programme provides training for ages 7-11. We focus on encouraging motor skills development, building agility, balance and coordination.

The focus of the Foundation training programme is to introduce your young athlete to movements in a fun and educational environment. this programme will help your young athlete become proficient at general movement patterns like jumping, landing, sprinting, and changing directions.

2. DEVELOPMENT

Developmental Stage Training Ages 9-12 (Motor Skills Training, Strength, Movement Efficiency, Agility, Foundational Movement Patterns)
The window between ages 9-12 is one of the most important developmental periods for young athletes.
 
Young athletes at this age are primed to acquire general sports skills that are cornerstones of their performance.
 
Their training should be designed to take advantage of this window.
 
The Developmental Stage Training Program will begin to teach your child how to train.
 
Movements like squats, push-ups, pull-ups, and other movement patterns will be introduced while the movements from the previous program (sprints, jumping, changing direction) will be built upon.
 
This program will also introduce light resistance that your young athlete will move explosively to elicit the growth of fast twitch muscle fibers.

3. ADVANCED

Advancement Stage Training Program Ages 12-16 (Strength, Agility, Power, Explosiveness, and Encouraging General Athleticism)
The final program of the Youth Performance Trio is the Advancement Stage Training Program.
 
In this program, we’ll throw more novel stimulus at your young athlete in the form of more intense weight training, more advanced plyometrics, speed drills, and agility drills.
 
The emphasis, however, is on building strength to increase power and explosiveness.
We’ll do this with loaded foundational movements.

4. SCHOLARSHIP

The Scholarship programme is suited for young-athletes with specific goals. This programme is sport specific and provides coaching in both a private and semi-private environment.

SPECIALISED FACILITY

Our Redemption training facility offers customised equipment that’s not found in any other gym. We also rent out our weight room for sport teams to use during their season.

SPORTS SCIENCE

Our C.A.R.E Training System is designed by ASCA strength and conditioning coaches, where Redemption then layers in skill-development training to create a well rounded programme.

TARGETED WORKOUTS

Daily workouts designed around the concept of periodisation means that each week builds on the previous one to achieve targeted, specific goals.
