INTRODUCTION TO COMPOUND MOVEMENTS

We offer FREE coaching classes to all our members so you can start immediately. Our Learn To Lift classes are the best place to start if you want to learn more about the gym environment and why we use the exercises we do. In these classes you will be introduced to strength training three times a week. Three workouts per week are enough to create noticeable, lasting changes to your health and physique while being practical for those even with the busiest of schedules, or those who simply don’t want to spend more time at the gym than necessary.

  2. – IPF competition and lifting rules for accountability
  3. – How to trainer smarter and efficiently

We cap these classes at 12 people so it is a first-come-first-serve principle.

Squats are the worse, BUT we have to do them. You should never cheat on squats for instance, they are the base movement for most workouts and they provide the most benefit.

In this class, we look into the importance of mobility, activation and proprioception. We focus on how we can activate the glutes and hamstrings properly to build a bigger foundation for your core strength and how to eliminate most lower back pain.

Bench Press is the best. Even though I prefer dumbbell press over bench press for chest growth due to the increased range of motion you’re able to achieve, we do learn the bench press for competition reasons.

In this class we breakdown the best way to optimise chest growth and strength with the traditional form of bench pressing. We also focus on the actual movement versus the angle you could be using i.e. incline, flat or decline.

Deadlifts are the hardest. Yet, if you asked anyone at Redemption, deadlifts are the most fun. It’s the one lift we really let go on.

I have seen many people shy away from deadlifts due to it’s intimidating nature. This is why I like to teach them in this class. In terms of overall global muscle fibre recruitment, high threshold central nervous system activity and anabolic hormone stimulation no form of exercise has a bigger impact than deadlifts!
